Good Morning!
Sightings Worth Celebrating
Today’s morning sailings for Mischief and Spirit were very successful! The RIB of course set out first, trundling past the river and bridge and out towards Munlochy Bay. It was here that Mischief encountered our first dolphins of the day, before heading up to Chanonry in the hopes of finding more. When Spirit went out at 10am, they too spotted two dolphins near Meikle Mee; it looked like our locals had arrived nice and early for a spot of salmon for breakfast! After a spirited 4pm interaction with the boat by herself yesterday, Kesslet decided to bring Charlie along with her this time too! It’s possible that both the RIB and the Cruiser got an eyeful of our gruesome twosome this morning, and as usual, they seemed very obliging. Pity was, they didn’t stick around for long, disappearing up past North Kessock again to the other rivers. It seems that maybe the Ness’ salmon is not doing very well, or that Kesslet has a taste for sea trout instead! Such a picky girl.
Scouting Seals
Thankfully, however, we didn’t have to just rely on Kesslet and Charlie today on the cruiser; we had seals aplenty to come and say hello too! A few curious seals popped up above the surface to have a sneaky peek at the boat before disappearing again. The mudflats have also been playing home to the harbour seal mums, who just seem to be getting bigger by the day! We’ve been keeping an eye on the otters too, to see if they reappear. It’s an exciting time for young families in the firth, that’s for sure!
